Lynch on Lopez, Even More Behind Fun Time, and Bonnie Hunt

Jane Lynch was on George Lopez’s show last night, and because we know you ran out and saw this the second it was released, we’re going to ask this as if you know exactly what we’re talking about: Wasn’t it so nice to see them together again?

Jane followed Clint Eastwood, which – well, how do you follow Clint Eastwood? The truth is, you don’t; you try to walk alongside him before he snaps around and demands to know why you’re shadowing him like a pussy. Jane held up pretty well; a little nervous, almost shy, especially when George told her, “When I see you in a movie, I know the movie is going to be good.” We’d rephrase that a little: When we see her in a movie, tv show, or webisode, we know she’s going to be good. Jane brought out the guitar to serenade Jorge in a new rendition of the song she sang to Steve Carell in 40 Year Old Virgin and revealed that though she is not fluent in Spanish, she is in ubbi dubbi. In other news, we love how XBox is slowly releasing these “Behind the Fun” clips as part of its “More Fun Time” campaign. Each vid is just enough to sate you, and just enough to keep you wanting more. In other words, it’s like the best first date ever. In this installment, Jane defines “More Fun Time.” One definition: “It’s a song that the Ancients whistled through the gaps of their teeth because [pause] they had such poor hygiene.”

And, finally, as if there hasn’t been enough Jane for one day, we just got word that she’ll pop up on Bonnie Hunt’s just canceled daytime talk show today (Wednesday). Sorry, Bonnie, you seem like a real nice lady, but we’re not sure you’ve got the knack for daytime hosting duties. Here’s to hoping Jane helps you go out with a bang.

We are absolutely loving these “Behind the Fun” clips from XBox, which are being awesomely released concurrently with the “More Fun Time” spots (also with Jane Lynch). Below, the newest addition to the series. All we have to say is, “MMM.”

Jane Lynch Slightly Overshadowed by Jonas Bros. Weep.

Over at the New York Times’ Advertising section, the whole XBox “More Fun Time” commercial ad campaign is explained to us: Microsoft would really, really, really love it if we bought into their idea that, like the Wii, the XBox brings, not tears, families apart. And who better to use as a conduit for this explanation than … the Jonas Brothers? Yeah, the brothers apparently very, very choosy when it comes to endorsing products (unlike other, ahem, other actresses) (that’s not a hit against our Jane; we effing love that she did commercials before going really commercial); they’re a family brand selling a product aimed at families; and so it is a Big Deal that they’re on board with this campaign. Jane Lynch’s involvement is mentioned in passing, so at least we have that. Check out the commercials here. Another Behind the Fun clip is below (Q: “If you could meet anyone alive or dead, who would it be?” A: “The alive one.”). I’m pretty sure these are funnier than anything the Jonas Brothers put together.

Jane Lynch in Inexplicable But Hilarious XBox Commercials

Awesome site visitor and self-described “non-rabid superfan” Yvanka emailed us this tidbit: Jane Lynch apparently has gone back to her commercial roots and is showing up in a good number of spots for XBox’s “More Fun Time” campaign. You can see all four of the spots here on the XBox website (warning: the price of this viewing is a forced installation of Microsoft’s Silverlight). “Behind the scenes” footage – like the one below – can be viewed on Viddler, Funny Or Die, and YouTube.
