“It’s definitely going to be more me than Sue Sylvester,” Lynch said last week of her planned approach to MCing the awards. “In fact, if Sue were hosting, I don’t think many people would watch it, because a little of Sue goes a long way.”

Unrelated: we don’t know if you’ve been paying attention to this at all, but LG’s Text Ed campaign is chugging along with new videos uploaded on its Facebook page every so often.  In case you don’t remember, Jane Lynch plays a former out-of-control text messager and now teaches anti-text messaging classes to text message delinquents.  Sort of like going to driving school after flying past that stop sign, except no one throws a chair at you.  Right?

Back on topic: in the November issue (on sale this week), Jane is on the cover with a gold track suit and gold megaphone.  Flip a few pages and sigh wistfully for a future when a lesbian can be surrounded by pretty girls instead of hunky guys in order to evoke an image of power and control.  C’mon now, these 51-ish year old women making around $100k reading about Jodie Foster last month can deal with that, can’t they?  Can’t they??

Onto the substance:

Lynch met her wife, Lara Embry, last year at a lesbian rights fundraiser. A week after meeting her, Lynch flew to Sarasota, Florida, where Embry lived. Just before takeoff, Lynch tells MORE, she called Embry and said, “We need to acknowledge how courageous both of us are that I’m coming into town and you really don’t know me. And I’m hopping on a plane to visit someone I really don’t know. So for a moment, let’s give ourselves a little pat on the back.

“I’m a little OCD,” admits Lynch who says she stares longingly at the dozen or so boxes of Embry’s belongings that have been shipped and fantasizes about paring down. “I don’t want to start going through them and saying, ‘Well, we can get rid of this, and that!’ But it’s hard.” As for her new role as Stepmom? She’s getting into the swing of things: “I took her to school. I picked her up. I went to lunch with her. So I kind of had a test run. We’re pretty darn good together.”

And of turning 50, she says, “I like the equanimity that comes with my age. I don’t have big highs, and I don’t have big lows. Even if this job goes away tomorrow, the nonstop ambition is a thing of the past for me. I’ve mellowed.”

There also is a web-exclusive “5 Little Known Facts“, in which La Lynch talks about how she thought you were supposed to hear out of only one ear, not realizing that LiLo is not just a Disney character, and standing tall. For more of the magazine interview, though, you’ll have to go on and pick up the issue of More (heh) this week.

That said, how many track suits does Jane Lynch own outside her Glee dressing room, you think? Can future media reps think of some other Adidas-inspired gift to give her? Like maybe a wristband or a gym bag or shoes or how about this sweet Nylon Bomber jacket?

Rant aside, we found a pithy few clips of Jane on Larry King’s show last night.  We’re still waiting for some awesome YouTubers (hint, hint) to upload the full interview for those of us without cable.  In one of the clips, Jane talks about still having to audition for parts right up to Glee, which just makes us sad.

I get asked for advise all the time. I don’t why any one would think I know what I’m doing. My life and my career has been one accident after another. I have just gone head long balls out and fevered never coming up for air for a good bunch of years and I don’t know that this is very good advise to give any one. And I know there are a lot aspiring actors and film makers out there and perhaps they want me to give them words of wisdom or the keys to the kingdom or let them in on the big secret. So I will defer to Carol Brady, who in her infinite wisdom once said, “Find what it is you do best and do your best with it.

Jane on The Tonight Show show was, dare we say, even more awesome?  We love people, celebrities or not, who talk about being gay without a hint of apology or shame, and can poke fun of it without doing so to make all the other straighties in the room feel better/more uncomfortable.  Jane Lynch talked about 40 Year Old Virgin, and even though we’ve seen the Spanish love song clip a million times, it was interesting to see Steve Carell and Jane talk about it.  She also talks about why she and Lara were married on Memorial Day (they met on Memorial Day last year; insert aw here),  Outfest, and being a flaming lezzie.  So entirely refreshing.

The 49-year-old star has been out for 30 years, and looking back Lynch points to a few advances in LGBT portrayals, especially in television with “All in the Family” and “The L Word.”

“There are 10% of us in the world,” Lynch points out. “And we’re weaving ourselves into this society we call American mainstream. It’s slow happening, but you just have to keep plugging away.”

The actress gives high marks to director Lisa Cholodenko’s gay kitchen-sink comedy “The Kids Are All Right” in which Annette Bening and Julianne Moore play a couple coping with family problems. “But it’s an almighty battlefield out there,” Lynch believes. “And the big bucks go towards what they think the male demographic wants. If somebody from another planet stopped by Sunset Boulevard and looked at all the billboards, they’d think that only men lived on this planet.”

On getting married to Dr. Lara Embry in Massachusettes:  “I would have rather gotten married in my own state, California,” says the actress. “But that’s OK. We’ll go where they’ll take us.”  That’s right, we’ll go where they take us, then we’ll storm the doors of the places that don’t.
