Jane Lynch on Conan Last Night .. Aw

Late last night/early this morning, Jane Lynch popped up on Conan. She was up after the night’s first guest at midnight, 50 Cent. We know, after 50 Cent! We know this means that 50 Cent was the unofficial headliner of the night (and, was he ever charming as he hawked his various water and cologne lines. “Like he was gentrifying himself,” one of us said. So true), but we like to think of this as: Jane Lynch is just too risque for the midnight to 12:15am quarter hour.

The first thing Conan said to Jane as she sat down to resounding applause was, “You deserve that.” Aw, also so true. In our favorite part of the night, Jane rips into Andy Dick Richter* a little bit for borrowing her car in the early 1990s and incurring $500 worth of parking tickets. She also teaches 50 Cent how to fluff a pillow, straight from a self-taught lesson from the housekeeping staff at Comfort Inn. Yeah, you know there’s a two-line 50 Cent lyric in there somewhere.

Also, Jane Lynch’s niece posted a super cute photo of her aunt’s dressing room. That’s totally the way to do it; if it were us, we’d take a photo and then take the sign, as if it were our first and last day of work. Ah, employment, we forgot what that was like.

* Mistakenly referring to Andy Richter as Andy Dick possibly could be the worst mistake we have made thus far on our website. Sorry for the insult, Andy.

Jane Lynch in AP Interview & Annoying Vanity Fair Article

Looks like the AP has posted an interview with Jane Lynch from what probably was a Glee press junket. Jane dishes a little bit about her character, the upcoming season (love triangles, fake pregnancies, etc.), and reiterates her desire to sing. She definitely does not sing in any of the first 12 episodes; she’s pulling for a number somewhere in the back nine.

Also, we just hit upon a fairly irksome Vanity Fair Q & A back in September. She’s not annoying; the interviewer is, so we’re a little hesitant to link to it … but there it is anyway. Oh, Dominick Dunne, how we miss you already.

In other news that was yesterday’s news: just one more friendly reminder that Jane’s on Conan tonight! Yeah! After that, head outside and look up – the Leonids meteor shower was pretty effing awesome last night.

I know we said before that Jane is going to be on Conan on November 18, but I guess Conan had other plans: she’s going to be on Conan tomorrow instead, alongside 50 Cent. Yeah, it’s going to be a great show and, as far as we can tell, the first time Jane’s ever been on a late night talk show! Hopefully, Letterman’s next.

In other news, last week’s poignant Sue Sylvester moment, brought to you by the fine folks behind Let’s Try Giving Her Some Character & Co., made it on to #1 on TV Guide’s Top Moments in TV. “You know what’s hard?” they ask. “Denying this scene’s emotional power.” Yeah, even for the naysayers, that is hard. Via Meg Doyle’s tweet – Doyle apparently is Jane Lynch’s niece – I know, I didn’t know either! Oh, Twitter, the things we learn from you – Jane Lynch is scheduled to appear on Conan on November 18. Conan’s schedule doesn’t appear to go that far into November, so (disclaimer) we’re relying solely on Ms. Doyle’s publicly available inside family knowledge. Sadly, Conan didn’t make it onto our Top 5 Shows Jane Lynch Should Be In, but surely he was number 6. Surely.
