Let’s see, how many ways can we animate Jane Lynch?  American Dad, check.  The Cleveland Show, check.  Animated-show-on-cable Neighbors From Hell, check.  Shrek 4, check.  And now, the holy grail of animation outside of Pixar: The Simpsons. Per Entertainment Weekly, Jane plays Roz, Homer’s assistant at the nuclear power plant (Burns must have been feeling generous, giving his engineers? button pushers? what does Homer do, exactly? assistants).  We quote EW‘s quote:

“This woman seems terrifically nice, but then it turns out she’s just completely undermining him every step of the way and gets his job — until he can discover her one weakness with the help of Ned Flanders,” explains Simpsons executive producer Al Jean. [...]  “I’m just embarrassed we didn’t ask [Jane Lynch to do a voice] before she was so successful because she’s funny in everything she does. We were very happy when she said yes.”

Yeah, we’re embarrassed for you, The Simpsons!  Anyway, the episode is called “Replaceable You”, and it will air early next season.  We’ll keep you updated on when its specific airdate.
