More award shows, more red carpets: Jane Lynch was at the 2010 Creative Arts Emmys over the weekend.  She was nominated for one golden naked man – Best Guest Actress in a Comedy (for her guest role in Two and a Half Men) – but lost out to none other than Betty White.  Betty White won for her turn hosting SNLneed we say more?  For those of you with cable, E! will broadcast the whole thing on August 27th.  E! also has this nice little clip of Jane on the red carpet, who is totally hot.  And by “totally hot”, we mean “it was something like 90 billion degrees in LA over the weekend; sometimes we abhore living in a desert.”  Despite the heat, she takes the time to talk about going to Disneyland the day Britney Spears was on the Glee set, working with Carol Burnett, and, duh, her upcoming SNL gig.  She also gets attacked by Jon Hamm, who assaults her with a bear hug.  We love Jon Hamm’s bubble. We want to live in his bubble. Sigh.

The 2010 Regular? WhatWeThinkOfWhenWeReferToTheEmmys? Emmy Awards will air this upcoming Sunday, August 29th.  If you don’t think we won’t have a shitfest if Jane Lynch does not win in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category, well, you haven’t read this website long enough to understand that we have shitfests when deserving people don’t win awards they deserve to win.

Before the big show on Sunday, let’s think pause for a minute and think about this whole Jane Lynch thing roughly one year ago.  This was before Jane was making the rounds on late night network talk shows (Conan, Jay, Letterman). No, this was when she only was allowed on the cable talk show circuit.  Cable talk shows like Chelsea Lately.  And on cable talk shows like Chelsea Lately, she was talking up this new television show called Glee and explaining who her character was and, oh, how she just got back from vacation in Sarasota, Florida.  She kept mum about her relationship with her now-wife Dr. Lara Embry, even as Chelsea wonders why on earth anyone would go to Sarasota, Florida.  In hindsight, we can only say to Chelsea: oooh, snap.  Snappery aside, we enjoyed this interview tremendously, and wish it just kept going, because Chelsea is faster than Jay Leno, and, because she has the benefit of being a cable show, is punchier than Letterman or Conan.  We also like this because it kind of sums up what a difference one year can make.  It’s nice to be reminded that good things happen to very talented people, and it’s so great to see very talented people finally get their due.

Jane’s appearance on Chelsea Lately happens to be one more off our  Jane Lynch Project – awesome.  We love killing one bird with one stone.  Because there are only so many stones in the world, and too many birds.
