Over the weekend, Jane Lynch (and Glee) picked up another award to add to her must-be-living-room-sized trophy case: the Television Critics Award in the Individual Achievement in Comedy category.  Interestingly, unlike other awards, these are the creme de la creme – there are no separate categories for male and female performances.  As it was then, she was the only female nominee in her category.  She beat out Ty Burrell (Modern Family), Nick Offerman (we like to think of him as He Who Wears the Mustache on Parks and Recreation); Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), and Eric Stonestreet (also on Modern Family).  The LA Times makes note of this noteworthy win, though we’re honestly wondering what happened to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.  Their nominations must have been lost in the mail.

Unrelatedly, the Wall Street Journal reminds us that Sue Sylvester’s wax figure will be unveiled at Madame Tussaud’s in Hollywood on Wednesday at 11am.  Her take on it?  “Yeah, it was surreal. Then I saw they also did Kim Kardashian, and I didn’t feel so special anymore.”  Ha ha!  She also has an interesting take on why it is that you have to check your ego at the Hollywood door in order to be a successful character actor.  We can’t get out of work to attend the waxy event, so if any of y’all are making the trip, send us pictures!  In the words of the aliens in Toy Story, we will be eternally grateful if you do.
