I know, we’re a little late posting this bit of news, and everyone from a fan in Taiwan (Ni hao, Taiwan! Don’t let the mainlanders get you down!) to an ex-co-worker told us about this last week … but we moved across town, and moving from one end of LA to the other is like moving across state lines. Better late than never, though, right?
OutFest – which organizes an annual 10-day gay and lesbian film festival here in LA – will honor our Jane Lynch with its Annual Achievement Award this year during its opening festivities on July 8th. According to OutFest via The Hollywood Reporter, the award is the festival’s “highest honor and is presented in recognition of a body of work that has made a significant contribution to LGBT film and media.” Yeah! Gays feting gays!! There really is no better party.
Speaking of parties, OutFest is nothing but one great big one. From what we understand, they’re still readying their gay agenda for their gay movie lineup, so keep checking their gay site here for details. We don’t think there’s going to be a 25th anniversary tribute to Desert Hearts (but, dude, there totally needs to be one, somewhere), but there will be other lezzie-centric movies, so surely swing by if you’re local and/or visiting. We’ll see you there!
