Two Jane Lynch news items that have been unduly delayed, but still are very timely. Most important, because there really is a deadline to this, is an auction. We all remember Jane’s Golden Globe dress, don’t we? Yes, of course we do. It was a Mon Atelier. More importantly, it had pockets. Pockets!!! Well, Jane has generously donated that same gown to a non-profit group, Clothes Off Our Backs, in an auction to benefit the Red Cross’s relief efforts in Haiti. The auction ends today at 5PM PST, so you’ve only got a few precious working hours to do what you do and raise your placards, itch your elbow, tap your forehead, scream, whatever it is that one does to indicate interest in an object of one’s affection.
In other news, Jane appears on the cover of the March “Love” issue of the UK’s DIVA Magazine (below), which is like a lezzie-oriented magazine with English sensibilities. The article appears to be a nice summation of many of the recent interviews Jane has done lately. Sample quote: “In Sue, Lynch has created a character that will rank alongside the likes of Patsy Stone, Alexis Colby and Heather Mills in the pantheon of delicious, preposterous, shameless villainesses.” Now, it may be because we’re capitalist Yanks and/or don’t remember Dynasty and/or barely remember Heather Mills, but when we think villainesses, we think Ursula, Maleficient, or even the Borg Queen way before those named three. But as they say, it’s not just an ocean that separates our two countries. Check out the rest of the fat excerpt here.
