Two not-so-recent interviews popped up on our radar over the last few days, and they’re both pretty good. In the first, the New York Post asks what Jane has checked out in her library. She digs politics – someone send her a few Sarah Vowell novels, stat – and lists Malcolm Gladwell’s Outliers (which we hope she will be sorely disappointed to find that not one famous woman is discussed as an outlier; Gladwell defends himself incredibly poorly in this interview with Matt Lauer on the Today Show), Fritjof Capra’s Tao of Physics
, Rachel Sherman’s Living Room
(which she says is a “little dark” for her – ha!), and David Kidder’s The Intellectual Devotional: Revive Your Mind, Complete Your Education, and Roam Confidently with the Cultured Class
. The idea behind the last book there isn’t as pompous as the title. Well, maybe it is.
Over at ABC News of all places, Jane and Matthew Morrison talk about their respective roles on Glee. Jane, acknowledging the protection culture of child rearing that has resulted in certain parents freaking out about the “racy” scenes in the show, says, simply, “Well, too bad for them.” Yeah! Discussing her track suits, she says, “I’m not wearing them right now and I miss them desperately.” So do we! We’re looking forward to seeing her this week, after a Sue Sylvester-less episode last week.
